I Choose To Free Myself

“I choose to free myself  of all limitations and self imposed notions, to align with my divine path and higher self”: My mantra of the day. And wow it’s a hard one to genuinely stick to. I needed to repeat this to myself a couple of time since today. The first was before taking a class at Yoga Barn in Ubud. Why?…you tell me!? I love Yoga, practice regularly and have just completed a 200hr teacher training course in Vinyasa, Yin and Kundalini. I genuinely was baffled by my own train of through when I realised that I was so nervous to go to a Yin class at Yoga Barn….YOGA BARN… just a place where all people do is Yoga! It’s so silly, but it’s just one of life’s little things. Anyway, mind over matter, I went to Yoga Barn and had THE most amazing (non threatening) Yin class ever and my nervous sweats were a complete waste of time.  Secondly, today I chose to post the same image from this post on my Instagram…and its funny, I absolutely HATED it when I first saw it. I thought I looked disgusting and goofy. I guess it’s human nature to be self critical and over conscious sometimes, but wow it’s so unhealthy! Why do we need other people’s reassurance to feel good about ourselves? I’m rebelling against this conclusion at the moment so I posted the picture and just accepted that’s me, and the people who love me love me because of it! My world didn’t end when I posted it and I actually feel better for just freeing myself of that limitation and being content.

We’re so much happier when we just let go of my mind chatter telling us “I’m this and that”. Not only does it make you feel low but it also gets in the way of your path. The senses fool us. They tell us that the earth is flat and that we are standing still and that we are not falling. When we learn to see past this perceptual deception we begin to develop a more conscious awareness of reality. It means we begin to question the information that we are gathering from our senses and challenge our perceptions, including self-perception. Negative thoughts about ourselves, a lot of the time are made up in our head. We become a victim of nothing but our own mind! Therefore today I’ve dedicate energy to freeing  myself of all limitations and self imposed notions, and focus on aligning myself on a positive path to become my highest self.
