D’Bali Guesthouse

D’Bali Guesthouse was the first place either of us had ever stayed in Bali so we werent really sure what to expect of Indonesia AirBnB. Booking through Airbnb is always going to involve that risk of arriving somewhere unexpected, or to somewhere that doesn’t exactly live up to the pictures you saw online.  I think the majority of us have had that experience at least once; we definitely have. But arriving through the entrance gate of D’Bali Guesthouse it was far from that experience (thank goodness).

Pulling up to D’Bali Guesthouse we were greeted by two ladies Wulan & Dewo, it very quickly became apparent that they ran this show & to a very high standard. D’Bali was more than we expected it to be and the pictures were great but they didn’t actually do the place justice in our eyes. Through the big beautiful (very typically Balinese entrance door), was a lovely little pool surrounded by Banana leaves, overlooking one of the many rice terraces of Canguu. We loved the vibe instantly so much we extended our stay by five nights after being in the place five minutes!

Something that stood out to use here was there was so many little touches to make our stay that little bit more comfortable; the smart TV in the room, the air fresher on timer so the room always smelt amazing (even when we did not) & the fridge that was always fully stocked with cold bevs. The Bathroom was Beautiful, and the bed was huge and comfy we felt like we had our own squidgy marshmallow to sleep in each! It was so big it was actually a fright when we accidentally touched feet during the night lol!

The evenings included sitting on our own balcony and waiting for the resident Tokay Geko to start its mating call. It i we were completely oblivious that geckos even made a noise! You learn something new every day here. There was also a brilliant kitchen space that meant we could make dinner if we wanted, or breakfast. The days were super chilled. Although we were a little further from the beach then expected here, the pool made up for it! Thanks to the quite remote location there was not a sound apart for the birds tweeting, so sunbathing by the pool was bliss. Or course when its 28 degrees the cold water, fresh fruit and Bintang in the fridge is such a treat!
